International Day for Tolerance

Today is the International Tolerance day

The International Day for Tolerance is an annual day which was made by UNESCO in 1995. to raise public awareness of the dangers of intolerance. It was made on 16. of November.

Tolerance is accepting the difference and conscience that every human being deserves respect. That is not an expression of weakness, and it’s not an expression to loosen up and it’s not a bad trait. Tolerant person is a person that hold’s up for it’s beliefs, but the person does acknowledge that other people have their right’s to have their own opinion and they do have their own right to be what they want to be. Here are some of my favorite tolerance quotes:

“Laws alone can not secure freedom of expression; in order that every man present his views without penalty there must be spirit of tolerance in the entire population.”

― Albert Einstein

“In order to have faith in his own path, he does not need to prove that someone else’s path is wrong.”

― Paulo Coelho

“Do not let your assumptions about a culture block your ability to perceive the individual, or you will fail.”

― Brandon Sanderson

Tolerance is that annoying feeling that in the end the other could be right.

Jonathan García-Allen

Let’s get out of this dubious tolerance that makes us tolerate the intolerable – misery, hunger, the suffering of millions of beings. Outside this cavern we will find the brightness of the sun – that of compassion and fraternity.

-Federico Mayor Zaragoza

“Religion is like a pair of shoes…..Find one that fits for you, but don’t make me wear your shoes.”

― George Carlin
